Your data policy.

Floor Boss runs on data you already own. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Floor Boss ("we," "us") provides a team-facing assistant that runs restaurant operations inside your messaging workspace. For questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@floorboss.ai.

2. The data we process

To operate the service, we process:

  • Operational signals from your connected tools — your point-of-sale and scheduling systems — such as sales, labor hours, schedules, swaps, voids, comps and 86'd items.
  • Workspace messages and actions you direct to Floor Boss in your team channel (for example, acknowledgements, swap requests, issue logs and the single-tap responses you choose).
  • Account and contact details for the people who set up or administer Floor Boss (name, work email, role, location).
  • Usage and diagnostic data needed to keep the service reliable and secure.

We do not seek to collect sensitive personal information, and we ask that you do not send it to Floor Boss.

3. Why we process it

  • To deliver the features you turn on — briefings, broadcasts, overtime alerts, coverage, issue tracking and reporting.
  • To improve reliability, prevent abuse and secure the service.
  • To communicate with you about your account and support requests.

We process this data to provide the service you have asked us to provide, and to meet our legitimate interest in operating and securing it.

4. How Floor Boss learns

Floor Boss adapts to your team over time to ask less and surface fewer false alarms. This adaptation uses your own workspace's operational history. We do not use your operational data to train models for other customers unless you opt in under a separate written agreement.

5. Sharing

Your operational data is yours. We do not sell it and we do not share it with advertisers. We share data only with:

  • Service providers (subprocessors) who host and operate the service on our behalf, under written contract and confidentiality obligations. We maintain a current list of subprocessors, available on request.
  • Your connected tools, as needed to read signals and act on your instructions.
  • Legal or safety recipients, where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and secure. Where we use analytics or preference cookies, we do so to understand how the site is used and to remember your choices. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking non-essential cookies will not prevent you from using the site.

Embedded video on this site is loaded only after you choose to play it, and we use a privacy-enhanced player so no video-provider cookies are set until then.

7. International data transfers

We may process and store data in countries other than the one in which you are located, including the United States. Where data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses — and take steps to ensure your data receives an equivalent level of protection.

8. Retention

We keep operational data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above. In practice, that means for as long as your account is active, plus any period required to meet legal, accounting or regulatory obligations, or to resolve disputes. The criteria we use include the nature of the data, why we hold it, and any retention period you configure. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized, and residual copies in backups age out on a routine cycle.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Export your operational data at any time.
  • Delete data or close your account; we will delete or anonymize it without undue delay, subject to any legal retention obligations.
  • Access, correct or object. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, port, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on it.
  • If you are in the EEA or UK (GDPR): you may exercise the rights above and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
  • If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA): you may request to know, correct or delete the personal information we hold, and you will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

10. Children's privacy

Floor Boss is a workplace tool intended for use by adults in a business setting. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We protect data with administrative, technical and physical safeguards. See our Security overview for details.

12. Changes

We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes will be communicated to account administrators.
